Songs Of Freedom (Dedicated to Jeremy K)

To my wonderful husband.

Who brings joy to my life each day.

I learn so much from him, and truly aspire to gain his many redeemable qualities.

He lost a close friend this year and I had to see him hurt, as I too myself hurt.

My husband took time to mourn his friend and in that process pushed through his loss and pain and worked day and night to finishing his friends first E.P.
He is now going to master it himself, as he only knows what is wanted of this album and will be releasing it to the public when he feels it's perfected.

It will be an unknown artist to most of the people on my FB, but I promise, these songs and the production of them is not just your everyday E.P from a new artist on the scene.

The friend I speak of is no longer with us.

Which made my husband want to work that much harder on his unfinished album.

It was written, recorded, mixed and now being mastered not only with the evident talent that seeps through my husbands veins; but also with the love and memories he will forever hold of his friend.

They made a hell of a two man team.
I watched, as they grew and learned from one another.

So without further ado,
This is the first promotion, or introduction if you will; of Jeremy aka East Side Dezzy's talented and well executed songs that even after he has left this world, has the loyalty of his engineer and friend to keep his promise...

To make sure his music never ended up in the hands of someone who would either take it for-granted, or be too eager to release his songs before they were exactly the way Jeremy wanted them.

Although this was hard for me to hear.
Little did Matt and I know, two days before the accident that claimed his life, would be our last time sitting down, having a meeting with our friend.
It is ere now; but Jeremy gave very specific details on what he wanted his E.P to look and sound like.
I look at the notes he left for my husband, and it is as if he knew his time was coming where The Lord would take him back home.

Another ere point in the story of the time Matt and Jeremy spent building up his career, was close to the time where he was going to put out his E.P. But decided to hold off, Matt suggested to change the title to: "Remember Me."
It was well received and stuck.

This E.P will not only be a dedication to Jeremy's memory; but also be a testament to his humble, funny, witty, persona.
His characteristics stood out because of their originality.
He was not only a pretty face, no.
He was a being of class.
One not to cross, but never a irrational hot head.

He was understanding (which really impressed me) of the fact that my husband had a wife and kid, and always respected the time and space he needed in order to deliver to him, the skills to which he posses.

I once wrote a biography for Jeremy; and I can say with an honest open heart, not once did I have to lie to personify him as a likeable man.
I wrote based on the man I saw inside.
One who's heart was so big, his chest almost couldn't contain it.

He was not only my son's God Father, and as I type out these words my eyes fill with tears; he was also my friend.
We had our rocky moments, disagreements.
As I would say to him, I'm glad I met you as a friend and not a boyfriend, as to which Jeremy would respond in an almost child like manner, "why not?" Lol

He may have been a player, stringing along at least three girls at a time. Of course they would fall crazy in love with him, competing for his love while he stood back and joked about it with everyone.

One thing was certain, he never got strung. Hahaha
He always joked that when he brings around a girl who he could see as a wife, he would want me to approve, which I always was very flattered by.
He would confide in me about the girl drama he had going on, which made me feel special.

I was also lucky enough to know who his first and true love was. As he always would say, "I'm going to get her back one day." Letting me know she was the only girl who ever had and could always have his heart.

I could write forever on the subject, Jeremy. Speak of all I love and miss about him. However, I will leave it at this.

He was the first person I met who utilized his well brought up mannerisms.

Who stayed humble and never allowed his emotions to take over his actions.
Who faced his issues head on and learned from them.
Who had the smoothest skin I would ever know a man to have lol.
Who's kind heart popped out of his chest for the whole world to witness.

He was a kind soul yes, yet, you just knew upon meeting him, you could never use that against him as a weakness.

They say the loudest one in the room is the weakest on in the room. Which is why chiawaws are so loud but can't do a thing about their inner, misplaced anger at their small size, and German Shepard's are huge and quiet, but make no mistake, will do serious damage if necessary.

I would compare Jeremy's spirit to that of a lion; king of the jungle.
However, that would contradict my former statement about him.

The louder your roar the weaker your bite.
Porcupines however, although this is not a widely known fact; are the one animal who share the wild grounds of the African jungle among many other, larger, louder animals who otherwise would not be known to be messed with.
Yet, even the loudest of them all, the one who gained the title as the King, cannot defeat the porcupine.
If another animal does however take it down, it nine times out of ten risks, on a very high scale, of also losing it's life.

To sum up.
Jeremy was a great human being. I am glad for the time I experienced with him, and my family and I will all miss him.

Again,
The time is approaching quickly; and, as my husband works his butt off to present a almost perfectly executed album. Jeremy's talented writing and vocal skills will live on and be made available to all who loved him and those who enjoy, real, good, refreshing tunes.

They started together to create a masterpiece, and as tragedies often happen, one still stands to make sure the masterpiece meets its, "The End."

Thank-You.
